HR Generalist Job Description

 

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist will provide exceptional Human Resources service, advice and support to business owners and managers as well as administrative and technical assistance to the EVP of Human Resources, HR Director, HR Manager and HR Business Partners of ESC.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support and assistance to all customers and client staff members in all areas of Human Resources through phone calls, virtual calls, e-mail, and on-site visits.

  • Offers human resources support and assistance to all customers in all areas of Human Resources through phone calls, e-mail, and on-site visits.

  • Acts with urgency and provides timely and accurate follow-up with quick turnaround time on both internal and external requests.

  • Manages employee relations issues and conducts investigations in support of corporate ethics and values in accordance with HR compliance.

  • Assists the HR team with day-to-day activities and projects regarding labor law compliance, development and facilitation of training seminars, and other related duties.

  • Assists in developing and/or modifying HR seminars in the form of PowerPoint or Word documents.

  • Assists HR Business Partners with the Preventative Management area of Human Resources for clients such as manual creation and review.

  • Keeps up to date on changing HR compliance. Attends various training seminars.

  • Conducts research on a variety of HR-related topics.

  • Handles the unemployment insurance claims process, including completing forms, updating databases, contacting customers and the DOL as necessary, and acting as the company representative at hearings.

  • Liaison between all ESC departments and clients to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.

  • Assists other departments, including benefits and payroll, as needed for special projects.

  • Reviews EEO-1 data with clients for accuracy if applicable.

  • Assists with internal recruitment as necessary.

  • Utilizes Prism, Client Space or One Note to track client activities.

  • Keeps management informed of any pressing client issues.

  • Acts as a change agent, providing expert advice as a partner in successfully managing continuous improvement.

  • Utilizes reports to assist clients (attrition, FTE, PAs etc.)

  • Fosters a healthy team environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned and requested. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the Human Resources field.

  • Generalist background with broad knowledge of HR compliance, recruiting, interviewing, selection, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development.

  • Ability to create documents and provide reporting and analysis.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective presenter to groups of all sizes.

  • Overnight travel may be necessary and occurs on an infrequent basis.

  • Frequent daily local travel is required to client sites.
